About the Work

Haitian Christian Ministries (HCM) is bringing light to the darkness in Northern Haiti. Driven by the passion and vision of Pastor Emmanuel Laguerre (Pastor Manno), HCM recognizes that the only way to lead sustainable change is through Christian faith and education.

Like much of Haiti, Pillatre (pronounced pea-yot) is an impoverished area where many people struggle to find basic food and medicine. Over the past 25 years, Pastor Manno and the HCM Team have worked to bring Christianity, education, healthcare, and hope to the village of Pillatre and the areas near the city of Cap Haitian.

Today the Pillatre Christian Center includes:

  • a nationally recognized primary and secondary school with enrollment approaching 1,000 students.
  • a medical center with a full-time medical doctor. Desir Jean Wesner, M.D. (Dr. Desir) and his staff provide services for the entire community.
  • a new church building that can seat 900 and hosts Bible studies and services seven days a week.

Thousands of individuals have come to Christ, and many more have received an education far superior to most government run schools.
